Let's Make Sure Your Files Are Perfect
-
1. Best File Types for Printing
Vector files are always best for DTF printing because they give us the sharpest details. If you're using a raster image, a high-resolution PNG file is the next best option.
-
2. Color Match Expectations
Just like most commercial printing, DTF uses the CMYK color range. This means we can get very close to your design, but the final print is limited to those specific colors.
-
3. Minimum Line Thickness
For any free-floating lines (like fine text or thin borders), we need a minimum thickness of 0.019" (or 1.4 pt). If the lines are thinner than that, they might not stick properly to your garment.
-
4. Keep it at 300 DPI
For raster images (like JPEGs or PNGs), the "gold standard" is 300 DPI (dots per inch). Why 300? Because anything lower can lead to blurriness or pixelation—meaning your design won't look as sharp when printed.
-
5. The Secret to Softness
Want a transfer that's barely noticeable? Increase your negative space! Designs with plenty of "show through" are more breathable and result in a dramatically softer hand feel when you touch the garment.
-
6. Avoid Ghostly White Lines
If your PNG file has semi-transparent pixels (like feathered or faded edges), our printer might interpret them as white ink. To prevent a thin, ghostly white outline around your finished design, make sure your edges are fully opaque or completely transparent.
-
7. Getting Clean Fade-Outs
If your design features soft edges or gradual fades, you might notice a white "halo" around the print on your garment. To achieve a seamless fade-out effect and completely avoid that white border, consider incorporating a halftone technique into your artwork.
-
8. Transparent Backgrounds Are Key!
Please make absolutely sure your design files have a transparent background. Our DTF printer will print everything it sees in the image—including any solid white background—so if you send a white box, you'll get a white box!
-
9. Color Matching Expectations
To get the closest match possible, we strongly recommend using HEX codes from a reliable color guide in your artwork.
IMPORTANT NOTE!
We can't be responsible for color differences between what you see on your screen and the final DTF transfer. This is because our printers are precisely calibrated to professional CIELAB standards, but your monitor might show colors differently.
Few ways to increase your color accuracy:
-
1. Upgrade to an IPS Monitor
This can improve overall color accuracy, though it won't guarantee a perfect match.
-
2. Monitor Calibration
Calibrate your screen specifically to the CIELAB color profile.
-
3. Request a Swatch
Purchase a PRINTED Color Swatch directly from us, and choose your colors from that physical reference when creating designs.
-
